Of course this is different management then when he got there but the past few years he has done what he wanted. All of a sudden management realizes they have an ego and got tired of getting pushed around. The goal is to win and the Packers should have put their ego aside and let Brett be the starter for one more year.madnicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07496277691175179159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6812670776373470303.post-72802125290273791232008-08-11T17:58:00.000-04:002008-08-11T17:58:00.000-04:00Reggie:I assume that Green Bay's management and co...Reggie:

I assume that Green Bay's management and coaching staff did not base their decision on Rodgers' scant playing experience but rather on what they have seen from him on the practice field and in workouts. Another point that is important to consider is that soon they will either have to sign him to a big contract or let him walk, so they need to get him on the field and make sure that he is in fact the qb of the future.

Favre is not wholly committed to playing and I would not put my franchise in his hands at this point. There is no track record of success (in terms of winning championships) for any qb at his age. He is liable to take a big hit and retire or to decide in the middle of the season that going to practice is too much of a grind. If he were 30 or 31 then you'd have to put up with this--and he wouldn't be thinking about retiring anyway, do it wouldn't be an issue.

Even if Rodgers is a bust I still think that GB made the right move. You can't have the inmates running the asylum. If Rodgers is not good enough then GB will have to get another qb but that would be true even if they used Favre as a stopgap this year.

I will be surprised if Favre's numbers this year come close to what he did last year and I will be very surprised if he wins even one playoff game as a Jets starter.David Friedmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08444347475303187373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6812670776373470303.post-43307294592252663352008-08-11T17:20:00.000-04:002008-08-11T17:20:00.000-04:00anymous reggielol that was funny david "favre cent...anymous reggie

lol that was funny david "favre center coverage" i think jets will be good and green bay has a chance to be good. he is no mikel jordan or tiger woods im a favre defender and love him i think he not best quarterback ever though e is great player and special. you were right in a sense gren bay stood up to favrea and said no aaron rodgers. but if favre plays great and aaron rodgers is a bust people will look back and say it was terrible move for green bay remeber rogers played half a game to put your future on half a game is crazy to me lets see what happens.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
