These shows now are a scream fest that are unenjoyable and like you said about personal agendas. If you were on that show you knew you were somebody anyway. Damn I miss Dick Schaap and Ralph Wiley.

I dont even watch that show now.madnicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07496277691175179159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6812670776373470303.post-24821457557839341872008-09-26T16:04:00.000-04:002008-09-26T16:04:00.000-04:00Jason:One thing that is discouraging is that Kornh...Jason:

One thing that is discouraging is that Kornheiser used to provide high quality product--decades ago when he was a writer, not an entertainment personality--but now he has become almost a caricature of himself (or of something). There has been a dumbing down not only of the general culture but even of certain individuals within the culture who are surely capable of higher quality work but have decided to chase the dollars.David Friedmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08444347475303187373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6812670776373470303.post-45998755330365914092008-09-26T12:36:00.000-04:002008-09-26T12:36:00.000-04:00Most content is dumbed down because most people li...Most content is dumbed down because most people like it that way or are simply indifferent. It's the lowest common denominator.

While it's true that some of the content generation resources have been spread thin in order to provide content throughout the day and week, a great deal of concentrated effort goes into, say, a Monday Night Football broadcast, and the result is still a watered down product.(Side note: I'm amazed that Tony Kornheiser was brought back for another season).

Finally, the internet has certainly provided an opportunity for people who know nothing to write about anything they please. However, it's also a place where true analysts can be heard without being pushed out by the lowest common denominator effect.

Smart analysis has become a niche product, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there. Your site, football outsiders, 82 games, and others are (for the most part) producing better content than ESPN and other sites.

Keep up the good work, and don't let Tonys Siragusa and Kornheiser get you down.JLKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15005958576549654926noreply@blogger.com
